This new research centre for the BCAST (Brunel’s Centre for Advanced Solidification Technology) consisted of a 1,500m2 purpose-built building funded by Jaguar Land Rovers. T4 were brought in to carry out the M&E works which included LTHW Heating via Boilers to Radiators, Hot & Cold Water services, Natural Gas services including AmbiRad Gas Heating system, Chilled Water Systems, an Adiabatic Cooler to serve the cooling requirements for the Workshop Machines, Air Conditioning & Compress Air Systems, Emergency Lighting & General Lighting as well as Lightning Protection, Fire Alarms and BMS Systems. The purpose of the new research centre is to create a national advancement facility to assist the fundamental, laboratory-scale research and full-scale industrial trials to primarily serve the automotive industry. This is currently a live project and is due to be completed in the early Summer of 2015.
